Catch us at the Backdoor with zines, art by Kevin “Rashid” Johnson, and Anastazia Schmid & collecting toys for our holiday toy drive tonight til 10!
Come thru to the poetry slam at Bishop tonight & get some zines & prints from Kevin “Rashid” Johnson! We are tabeling to collect money for our annual toy drive, which you can read more about on our website / at the fundraising link in our bio ✨
Donate to our third annual toy drive! Prisons tear families and communities apart, and IDOC Watch is striving to mitigate the genocidal effects of taking people from their communities as much as we can. Help us out - attend one of these events and drop off toys or donate at the link in bio!
Join us and @pwr_plnt for First Friday! We will have some zines and some visual work we’ve put out supporting prisoners 🌟 And the amazing Rashid will have some prints for sale. There is also word that there will be a paper motorcycle with moving parts 🤭 All of the proceeds from art sale are going to the artists or to our inside comrades’ monthly funds we send. Don’t miss it!
We may not be the best, or discreet, with our wrapping, but we can throw together a toy drive for over 550 kids! While we are still working hard to get last minute gifts together, we want to thank everyone who donated, held an event, and helped in any capacity! This toy drive is a way we fight back against the genocidal process of incarceration by connecting prisoners to their loved ones, so children hurt by the incarceration of a parent or loved one can have a brighter holiday.
Come to the Back Door bar in Bloomington for the Rock Against Racism event benefitting our toy drive! Disclaimer: You do have to be 21, and Nico is a strict, strict doorman.
‼️ We currently have over 200 requests to give gifts to children on behalf of their incarcerated loved one in Indiana. Our goal of $2,500 was to accommodate a bit over our initial goal of 100 kids/gifts, but we are well past that now. Please donate and share to link in our bio ✨‼️
We will be reading "Missing Daddy," by Mariame Kaba and making cards for folks who are currently incarcerated in Indiana. Join us @ 4 pm November 19 @ All-Options Pregnancy Resource Center (Bloomington, IN)
The holiday season is quickly approaching, and while many of us enjoy this time with our families and loved ones, those affected by the prison system have their families and communities torn apart. Last year, IDOC Watch sent presents to 83 children on the behalf of their incarcerated parent or loved one. This year, we believe we can give even more. On our website you'll find more information about this year's Toy Drive, including a link to our fundraiser, a timeline, and wish lists from children as we receive them. Your donation will help us reach our goal of funding 100 presents this year:
